2010 is the first year since Vick was drafted 1st overall that I am not going to be attending the entire NFL draft in person...part of the reason is because I've been so tied up with non-sports and non-fantasy related projects (btw check out http://www.catchafire.org and http://wow.ly when you have a few free minutes)...and part of the reason is because the NFL has finally messed with the format enough to make it too exhausting to actually attend every minute in person!
Anyway - the good news is that I did get the new DW message board up just prior to this year's draft...so for all of us that can't make it to the big show this year (I will be there on Sat. I think) we can at least do some trash talking and analyzing right here!
Analysis: I do not remember the last time a rebuilding team was able to totally revamp their roster like the Seahawks have in this draft with picks and trades. Easily the best overall performance of any other team." As reported by Bleacherreport.com. Not bad. I'm a little (a lot) about Lendale White. But he did well under Carrol at USC. So we will see.
I think it's going to be interesting to see how the Seahawks develop over this and next year...I'm not a big believer in Carrol at the pro level yet, but we'll see.
I actually like the addition of White and I think it will give him a real chance to reach his potential.
The Cardinals are def. going to be falling back a little this year, the Rams should still be at the bottom...and so I think it's a real toss up between the Seahawks and 49ers in that division this year...
Regardless, I don't know if any of them make it out of their first playoff game this year though...
Oh and fantasy wise, outside of Fitz and maybe Gore...I don't know if any of them have any players really work nabbing...lots of fillers in there as I see it.
I agree the Seahawks really revamped their team this offseason. All they need is Hasselbeck to stay healthy and play like he used to and they could be a real contender.
I hate to talk NBA on a football site, but I can't help it. The Timberwolves have sucked year in and year out for years(except for a few years)(KG), but the NBA has this stupid lottery that doesn't give the worst team the first pick. (Patrick Ewing, New York, ya sure) As usual the Wolves get the fourth pick, but were the second worst team. Whatta ya think?
Pick 12 in a 12 man league. All the top RB's are gone and some of the QB's. Do you do the opposite? I mean...top WR and the best QB left? What good is it to take a second or third tier RB at that spot? Now.. It's back up and back down. Will Ryan Matthews still be there? Should get a starting RB? Rookie.. I know, but he will be the Chargers guy.
Give me feedback...
When you draft this low it's hard to get too worked up, but Toby Gerhart looks like a winner. With AP fumbling all the time Gerhart could be a goal line back. He's going to be Chester Taylors replacement. 4.53 forty at the combine and 230 lbs. He looks good!

Welcome to the all new Draftwizard.com message boards!
I'm FINALLY bringing back the Draftwizard.com message boards for everyone to enjoy!
Of course there are a few new (and hopefully interesting) twists to what I'm putting out there this time around...here's a quick rundown of what's in place so far:
1. The system does not require you to be a member or even logged in to read any of the public comments...so anyone can just come to http://www.draftwizard.com and read along.
2. If you want to post (and hopefully a ton of you will get back involved and posting around here)...you'll need a Twitter account ( you can set one up for free at http://www.twitter.com or just click the 'Login' link at the top of this page and follow the 'sign up' instructions).
I'm going this route because it makes it easy to verify identity without having to get back into the whole username/password bit that older versions of DW had to deal with...plus it allows me to build in some other cool features down the road (for example soon you'll be able to notify your Twitter followers of any of your comment board post).
Eventually I'll build in support for logging in with your facebook account too (for those of you that refuse to try Twitter but still love facebook)...but I'm not starting with it because, well honestly, facebook connect is still a bit of a clunky mess (though rumors are they are about to roll out some good upgrades for it).
So anyway, once you've caved and decided to get a Twitter account like all the other 'cool' kids...just come to http://www.draftwizard.com and click the 'login via Twitter' link at the top of the page...the first time you'll walk through an 'authorization' process and when you are done you'll bounce back here with full permissions to comment away!
3. So far, it's just a basic comment board system...no alerting (though I'll plug that back in very soon I promise)...and no other tools or content (yes, player rankings will be one of the first tools and content bits I build back in if/when I have time).
4. If you've got questions or comments about any of this, ping @draftwizard or @falicon on twitter...or if you're an old-school DW person and still have my email handy, you can always drop me a line that way too!
That's it for now. Hope you all like it...and let the conversation begin!
I am already compiling a mental list of tweaks and improvements to what I should do around here...but VERY excited to have at least a little something up and running at the draftwizard.com domain again!
OK - so the basic comment board features are up (including email alerting)...and so I'm wondering what's the next thing people want back on DW? My guess is player rankings, but I figured I would throw it out here for everyone to discuss just in case my gut is wrong!
Just a head's up for those of you that are getting back around to checking out draftwizard.com ... the logos across the top of the page are the twitter picture of the person that started the thread, and they are ordered from left to right based on the thread with the most recent activity.
So the idea is that you can just scroll from left to right (just like you read) to see what threads have had the latest action...and then within a given thread, you can scroll down through all the comments on that given thread (which should show in posted order top to bottom...with replies in-line).
Anyway - check it out...and as always, if you have questions just drop a comment here, email me, ping @falicon on twitter, or find me on facebook at http://www.facebook.com/falicon33
I think Miami is making a lot of really good moves so far this offseason...I especially like the Marshall pickup (assuming he stays out of trouble off the field - and I think he will).
Fantasy wise, not sure how much value the Dolphins have...but I do expect them to be in the playoff hunt in the real race!
If you're in a Dynasty League start researching names like Ryan Mallet,Jake Locker, Evan Royster. I know,I know I didn't say Mark Engram, but I figured if your reading this you already know.
Just a quick head's up that you should be able to turn on email alerts for draftwizard.com again if you like...just go to http://www.draftwizard.com/account_settings.php and turn it on if you like.
Once you do, you should get an email each time someone adds a comment to http://www.draftwizard.com ... eventually I'll also add in a daily digest option and the ability to respond to comments directly via the email you get sent.
